Trista started Lil Stinkers in 1998 after working in center based programs while in college. She has always carried a passion for early development & shaping young minds. By bringing this to in-home child care her goal was to create a place where parents knew the persons caring for their children on a more personal & intimate level. A place where we would lead by example and with the utmost respect for children, their families and co workers. Lil stinkers is indented to be a second family.
Mission
Lil Stinkers takes pride in offering high quality childcare with preschool curriculum in a home away from home atmosphere. We will be a safe nurturing environment for infants and toddlers to grow and lean through routine, consistency, opportunity and encouragement. We will always strive to help parents raise independent, smart, kind little humans.

Lil Stinkers strives be recognized as a leader in providing the best care for infants, toddlers and preschool age children. Known for educational progress, talented and dedicated long term teachers and life long community relationships we pride ourselves on meeting kids where they are and offering many ways to learn daily.
Philosophy
Every child is Gifted, they just open their packages at different times. Hand in hand with parents, teachers and peers children need opportunities to learn and gro with stimulating and positive sorroundings.
Trista Drake
Owner
Trista Drake had been in the childcare industry years before starting her business in 1998. Since then she has become a pillar in the community. Known for her outstanding care, attention to detail & spunky personality. She opened her home to dozens of children, & has never looked back. She advocates for childcare in Missouri & children daily. Her background in early education aides to the structure of care & curriculum. As her passion & heart for her business aides to how Lil’ Stinkers is more than just childcare. In her role as director, she fosters the growth of the teachers working for her & creates a community that is truly unmatched!
Our Staff
Scarlet Drake
Scarlet Drake has grown up in the child care industry. As the middle daughter of Trista she learned from an early age what hard work & dedication looks like. In middle school, she worked closely with special needs children & found a passion for caring for others. Her interest in childcare was peaked in highschool as she began branching out & working in local centers. She quickly realized that she like her mother before craved the one-on-one attention to children & closeness of family childcare. In 2020 Lil’ Stinkers expanded with her coming on as the second teacher! Her creativity, & kindness is what sets her apart from others!
Haley Slava
Haley Slava is the newest addition to the Lil’ Stinkers family, beginning her employment in 2023. Haley grew up around the Drake family & is no stranger to in-home childcare. In 2019 Haley graduated from Northwest Missouri State University, with her bachelors in Thereputic Recreation. With a minor in developmental phsycology. After college she took her skills to help the elderly as an activity’s director in a Kansas skilled nursing facility. We are so excited to see what new & exciting things Ms. Haley brings to the team!
